My research interests concern how people experience their surroundings, and how this understanding can be used to improve wellbeing, health, productivity and safety through environment, technology or service design. This curiosity grew out of my background in human factors, understanding the human aspects to work, environments and systems along with my award winning PhD exploring hospital soundscapes. I currently apply this thinking to healthcare environment design, product design, soundscapes, infection prevention and SME business applications. Additional research areas include examining energy control devices and behaviour change methodologies. My portfolio of research has been published in a variety of academic journals ranging from nursing, psychology, architecture, design and ergonomics thus demonstrating true breadth and multidisciplinary ability.
Please take some time to look at my research publications, CV and twitter feed to find out more about my research with people, about people, for people.
